Thanks for the info. I created a new thread and will try to explain these various programs (features, state of development, documentation level, usability, etc.).
Another option is use the CalculiX post processor (CalculiX GraphiX). I like this program because it is very light and has some interesting features. See this video (about the half way mark) for how I was able to integrate it with Excel

We just need to create an FRD output, which is probably straightforward. I think it supports F06, but that does not seem to be a good approach (there seem to be too many challenges parsing the file and its not consistent between Nastran versions).
